You want to become an EMT in Massachusetts and you want to know the EMT requirements? We have prepared this quick information sheet on EMT jobs perspective and requirements. Please note that all states require EMT classes’ confirmation and EMT certification. However, some States are more rigorous in their selection of EMTs.

There are currently over 18,000 certified EMTs in Massachusetts

 

General EMT requirements:

  • Be over 18 of age
  • High School Diploma
  • No Felony
  • EMT classes completed

 

Specific Massachusetts EMT requirements:

 

The State of Massachusetts if fairly clears on EMT requirements in addition to the general ones:

  • Be able to read, understand and communicate in English
  • Be free from addiction to alcohol or any drug
  • Must be able to lift and carry 125 pounds
  • Must be free from any mental or physical defect that would interfere with duties
  • Complete an approved EMS course

 

Massachusetts EMT fees & other specification:
